From data sovereignty to decentralised systems, GROC represents how Africa can shape its own technological evolution by starting with grassroots needs and local wisdom.
Originally developed by Google, LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) is a natural language AI designed to engage in human-like conversations. But the question Dezray boldly asks is: “Where is the African LaMDA?” Why hasn’t our linguistic diversity, cultural nuance, and oral traditions informed the AI models we use every day?
DC takes it further: “When tech meets agriculture, you get AgriTech drones for crop health, sensors for soil data, blockchain for supply chain transparency, and mobile apps connecting farmers to markets.” But are African farmers part of that conversation? Are we building the tools we actually need or just importing someone else’s solutions?
